There’s no doubting it. Emails are one of the best ways to market your business. So having an up to date email list filled with potential customers is extremely important.
Since the first email was sent in 1971, the amount of emails sent per day has skyrocketed. Research firm Statista is predicting the number of emails sent every day will reach 320 billion by 2021 — wow. So, with this in mind, the question is this: what are you doing to grow your email list to generate more sales for your business?
In this article, we’re going to go through one simple strategy that will enable you to grow an email list of valuable customers.
What You’ll Need To Build Your Email List
Before we start, there are a few tools that will be essential for you to successfully grow your email list.
First, you’ll need a social media account for your business — preferably Facebook or Instagram. I’m assuming most of you already have a page for your business on Facebook and Instagram. If not, get one set up ASAP. You’ll need a social media page as we’ll be posting there and using paid ads.
Next, sign up for a Clickfunnels account. Clickfunnels is an awesome tool that will enable you to easily create awesome looking landing pages, which will be perfect for collecting email addresses.
Finally, you’ll need to sign up for ActiveCampaign — the email marketing automation tool.
Integrate ActiveCampaign With Clickfunnels
For this strategy, you’ll need to integrate ActiveCampaign with Clickfunnels. This is so every time someone enters their email address on your Clickfunnels landing page, that email address will be directly stored on your ActiveCampaign account — which can trigger the automated opt-in and “Thank you!” emails.
You can do this quite simply by navigating to the “Integrations” tab from the Clickfunnels menu, clicking “Add New Integration”, selecting “ActiveCampaign” from the menu, and entering your ActiveCampaign API key and API URL. More information on this can be found here.
Once you’ve got these tools at the ready, we can begin to build your email list!
Building Your List
#1 Choose What You’re Going To Offer
People won’t just give out their email address without expecting something in return. So, we need to find something that will entice them to hand over their email in exchange for some kind of reward.
This doesn’t have to be anything complex — you can simply run a competition with a prize, or offer a discount coupon for your products or services. For example, you could offer people a 50% off coupon. If you wish to take things a step further, maybe consider creating a free eBook that relates to your services.
#2 Create Your Post
Once you’ve decided what you’re going to offer, you need to create your social media post. In this post, we’re going to be including some enticing copy, an image of the prize, and a link to our landing page. In the copy, you’ll detail what it is your offering (e.g. 50% Off Coupon Code), and direct readers to where they can claim this code — your landing page.
#3 Create Landing Page
This is the fun part! You get to use all of Clickfunnels’ amazing tools to create awesome looking landing pages in seconds.
This is where we’re going to collect you potential new customers’ email addresses. Make it sleek, simple, and make sure it’s relevant to what your offering — in this example, we’re going with the 50% off coupon code.
Once you’ve created your landing page, make sure you grab the link and paste it into your social media post.
#4 Create Your Automated Email
Go to your ActiveCampaign account and create the automated email which will contain your offer (e.g. the 50% off coupon code).
Make this email have a personal touch so your audience will feel valued. Use the tools to automatically include their name in the subject line and in the first sentence of the email.
Also, give clear instructions on how customers can use what you’re offering. For example: “To use the 50% off coupon code, enter it at the checkout” or “..email your code to me along with your inquiry”.
First, check your email and landing page are integrated correctly. To do this, just run a few simple tests to see if everything works — enter your email address on your landing page and see if you receive an automated email.
Once you’re sure that everything has been connected properly, then you’re ready to begin!
#6 Launch Your Campaign
Once have everything in place, you can hit the launch button!
Post your offer via your social media page and wait for people to sign up for your offer. If you want to reach more people with your offer, simply boost your posts using the paid ads function.
Once you’ve launched your offer, you can review the progress by seeing how many people sign up. If you’re not seeing much progress, you may need to change your offer or reword the copy on your social posts and landing page.
Growing your email list is essential in this digital age. Email lists can act as one of your businesses biggest assets — generating your sales on a daily basis.
