Drone Photography Should Be on Your Real Estate Marketing Plan

Did you know that a property can sell 68% faster if drone photography is used[1] in the marketing campaign? However, studies have revealed that over 56% of real estate agents do not use drone photography.

So, should you be combining drone photography and video to ensure your real estate properties gain the most inquiries possible? In this article, I’m going to discuss how you can use drones as part of your real estate marketing campaigns.

Quick note: If you’re considering filming drone footage on your own (without the help of a professional), you should check your local drone usage laws before starting to fly or capture photos and video using a drone.

Using Drone Photography In Your Real Estate Marketing

As stated above, using drone photography is an excellent way of improving your real estate market campaigns.

When done correctly, drone photography will help the viewer better image the scale of the property. It also allows them to gain an understanding of the property’s immediate surroundings. Something which can be important to know for many buyers and investors.

While some real estate agents use drones to photograph each property on their books, it’s usually best to employ the help of a professional drone photographer.

Here are a few ideas you can use when using drones to photograph properties:

Angled Drone Photography

When taking photos of each angle of each property, you can also variate the angles you use. If directly above the property is at a 90-degree angle, you configure your drone to be at 45 degrees, 30 degrees, 75 degrees, and so on (you get the picture) to, again, give your audience a complete perspective of the property.

Focusing on unique features is also a good idea — capture every angle that you can of a unique feature that you think would be of interest or a selling point.

Using Drone Videography In Your Real Estate Marketing

Drone videography is also a fantastic way to boost interest in a piece of real estate. Statistics also show that property listings with a video attached get 403% more inquiries versus listings without a video attached.

A lot of the same principles in drone photography can be applied to drone videography. That said, here is a list of things you should try to include in the final cut of your real estate marketing video:

Indoor Drone Footage

Capturing indoor drone footage of a property is a great way to make your video stand out — smooth, slow-moving footage in all rooms can help the viewer to feel fully immersed in the video experience.

While you can (and should) create a fully edited video of the property you’re advertising, you can benefit from using single drone clips if they’re captured and edited correctly. You can then optimize individual clips for different purposes — social media clips, website content, promotional videos, and more.

Is It Worth Drone Photography and Videography In Your Real Estate Marketing Campaigns?

Yes! As long as drone photos and video footage is captured and edited correctly, it’s a surefire way to enhance your real estate marketing campaigns.

Not only does drone photography and videography improve leads, conversions, or overall interest in a property, it can make your real estate company look a lot more professional.
