In this episode, I discuss the power of giving away value to strangers with the expectation of nothing in return. Call it karma or whatever you want to, but good things will come back to you. Give it a try and let me know what happens. My guest this week is Roger Beaudoin from Restaurant Rock Stars LLC, and we get into his cool journey into entrepreneurship. Roger has a cool and unique perspective on things that I am sure you will enjoy. Check this episode out, and you will see what I am talking about.
About Roger Beaudoin
Roger serves restaurants on a global level with customers in many countries. He is the founder of the Sales Stars Server Training Program and the author of Rock Your Restaurant, a game-changing guide to restaurant finances, and creator of The Restaurant Rockstars Academy.
He is a successful restaurant entrepreneur who has founded and operated four restaurant/hospitality companies over the past 18 years. He recently sold the Matterhorn Ski Bar in Maine, a seasonal restaurant, and bar which generated over 1 million dollars sales in just four months.
While he ran The Matterhorn, it was named “Best Ski Bar USA” by Skiing Magazine and “Classic Ski Bar” by SKI Magazine. The bar also received restaurant accolades from the New York Times, Boston Globe, Frommer’s Travel Guides, Powder Magazine, Yankee Magazine, and other publications over the years.
Roger has a B.S. degree in Business from Bryant College in Rhode Island and an M.B.A. in Business from Babson College in Massachusetts. He is the former president of the Bethel Maine Chamber of Commerce and Board of Directors and a former member of the Maine Restaurant Association Board of Directors.
Roger is a classic car enthusiast, skier, and passionate mountaineer/alpine climber with numerous ascents to his credit, including the Matterhorn in Switzerland and Grand Teton in Wyoming.
He currently lives in Sun Valley, Idaho with his wife, Thea, and two young daughters. When he isn’t coaching, speaking, podcasting, and creating new tools for restaurant owners, you will find him dining out at new restaurants, dancing in the moguls at area ski resorts, ripping it up on his mountain bike in the canyons, cruising around with the top down in one of his classic cars, or playing tennis ball tag with his daughters at the local playground.
He is a speaker, the host of the Restaurant Rockstars Podcast, and is frequently interviewed as an expert guest on other restaurant industry podcasts, as well.
In addition to running one of the industry’s top restaurant consulting firms, Roger also writes a monthly blog for Restaurant Hospitality Magazine online that focuses specifically on restaurant service.
Along with providing turn-key staff and waiter training and financial resources, Roger coaches and consults restaurant owners nationwide.
Knowing that more than 50 percent of restaurants fail, he has a deep passion for helping those hoping to open a restaurant not only survive, but thrive and knock it out of the park! Roger feels there is no reason for others to make the same mistakes he made 20 years ago when he started his first restaurant. With more than 20 years in the business, he is a genius with restaurant analytics, branding, training, systems, and efficiencies, using his expertise to help restaurateurs create not just restaurants, but BUSINESSES with ROCKSTAR PROFITS!
